Backdrop × Xavier Donnelly

About the Collaboration

Created by husband-and-wife duo Caleb and Natalie Ebel, Backdrop is the award-winning paint brand acquired by F. Schumacher & Co. in 2021. Backdrop's distinct point of view and reimagined customer experience oriented around making paint a design purchase have quickly resonated with designers and consumers. Backdrop is poised to become the next great American paint brand. Now a sister to Schumacher, Backdrop brings a unique sensibility and fresh perspective to wallcoverings with the brand's fresh sense of playfulness and irreverence. Its debut patterns are based on artworks handmade in their downtown Los Angeles studio. Backdrop is proudly Certified Climate Neutral and has a longstanding partnership with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) to support displaced refugee families with a portion of each sale. As seen in The New York Times, Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, Vogue, and more, Backdrop is your new favorite paint and wallcoverings brand.
