The Quick Numbers

Real ranges based on hundreds of Houston-area installs. Final price always depends on the room, the wallpaper, and the wall condition.

Installation labor $3.00–$3.50 /sq ft typical starting range
Wall preparation $3.00 /sq ft starting range — prep varies
Powder room $450–$800 typical full installation

These are starting ranges and depend heavily on the room, the wallpaper material, the wall condition, and the project scope. Mobilization fees and small-job minimums may apply for smaller projects. We provide a written estimate after reviewing your project.

On a typical Houston install, labor + prep run roughly equal — pattern matching adds time, smooth walls save time.

What Drives the Price

Six factors move a Houston wallpaper estimate up or down. Knowing them helps you plan a budget that lands close to reality.

Wallpaper material

Grasscloth, hand-prints, and natural fibers take longer to install than smooth non-woven or vinyl. Pattern matching adds time.

Wall condition

Smooth, primed walls install quickly. Textured walls or walls with old wallpaper underneath usually need a skim coat and primer first.

Pattern repeat & complexity

Large pattern repeats need careful planning to avoid waste. Murals require panel layout planning.

Ceiling height

Standard 8-9 foot walls are routine. Two-story foyers and stairwells require scaffolding and longer install windows.

Trim, doors, and outlets

A wall with many cutouts (windows, outlets, sconces) takes longer than a clean rectangle.

Mobilization

Smaller jobs may carry a minimum fee so the cost of the visit is fair to both sides.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the wallpaper included in the installation price?
The wallpaper is purchased separately, either through us or from another retailer. Installation pricing covers labor and standard wall preparation. We are happy to bundle wallpaper purchase with installation when it makes sense.
Do you charge for an estimate?
For most Houston-area residential rooms we provide an estimate from clear photos and dimensions. For complex residential or commercial projects we visit on site. Estimate visits within the Houston area are typically complimentary; further travel may carry a small fee.
Is there a minimum job size?
Yes — small projects may carry a mobilization or minimum-job fee. We will tell you clearly before scheduling.
Do you guarantee a fixed price?
The written estimate is what you pay, assuming the wall and the wallpaper match what we expected. If something changes during prep (for example, we discover hidden water damage), we discuss it with you before the cost changes.
Can I save money by doing my own prep?
In some cases yes — for example, if you have already removed the old paper. We do require that the substrate be wallpaper-ready (smooth, primed, dry) before our install team arrives. We will tell you what that means for your wall.
